What is a Vertical Compound Crusher?
A Vertical Compound Crusher is a high-efficiency crushing machine that combines impact and grinding principles in a single vertical structure. It is designed for medium and fine crushing of hard and semi-hard materials, with strong adaptability to irregular and mixed feed conditions. In waste treatment applications, it is often used as a key reduction stage to prepare materials for further sorting and recycling.
The equipment operates through a high-speed rotor that throws materials into the crushing chamber, where repeated impact and grinding reduce particle size. Compared with traditional crushers, it offers a more compact footprint, stable discharge control, and better control of final particle shape. It is widely applied in construction waste, slag, and other solid waste recycling systems where consistent output and efficient size reduction are required.

Working Principle
The PFL Vertical Compound Crusher is mainly composed of a motor drive system, rotor assembly, crushing chamber, impact liners, feeding hopper, and discharge system. During operation, the motor drives the main shaft and multi-layer rotors to rotate at high speed through a belt transmission system. Materials enter the crushing chamber from the feeding hopper and are accelerated by the rotating throwing plate and hammer heads.
Under the action of centrifugal force, the materials are continuously thrown toward the impact liners inside the chamber, where they undergo repeated impact, collision, and grinding. As the materials move downward in the crushing cavity, they are further crushed by high-speed rotors and material-to-material interaction until reaching the required particle size, then discharged from the bottom outlet. This combined impact and grinding process ensures efficient fine crushing and stable output for waste recycling applications.

Parts of PFL Vertical Compound Crusher
