Project Overview

This project is a decoration waste sorting and disposal center designed for processing urban solid waste generated from construction and renovation activities in China. The client planned to build a stable and efficient construction waste recycling plant system with a designed capacity of 150–200 tons per hour, focusing on resource recovery and long-term operational stability.

Communication & Project Background

At the early stage, the customer raised several practical concerns: mixed waste composition was complex, moisture content was unstable, and a large amount of bagged waste made direct sorting inefficient. They also expected a system that could reduce manual labor while improving recycling purity for downstream reuse.

After multiple rounds of technical discussion, Zhongyi engineers reviewed the site layout, waste characteristics, and end-product requirements. Based on this, we proposed a complete mechanical sorting solution combined with targeted manual picking cabin stations to balance efficiency and flexibility.

Our Solution

The final solution integrated crushing, screening, magnetic separation, air separation, and conveying systems into one continuous production line.

At the front end, a Single Shaft Bag Opener worked together with a chain plate conveyor to handle incoming mixed bagged waste. The bag opener used a low-speed tearing structure to efficiently open waste bags while avoiding excessive crushing of recyclable materials such as wood, plastics, paper, and light combustibles. This ensured stable feeding and improved separation performance in downstream equipment.

The core sorting section adopted multi-stage separation including trommel screening, bounce screening, vibrating screening, magnetic separation, and windshifter. Recyclable aggregates were separated and processed into reusable construction materials such as recycled aggregates for bricks and concrete production. Metals were recovered for recycling, while non-recyclable residues were sent for final disposal.

The decoration waste recycling plant is designed with a processing capacity of 150–200 tons per hour, supporting continuous large-volume solid waste sorting and resource recovery operations.
Stable Bag Opening & Material Feeding
The Single Shaft Bag Opener adopts a low-speed tearing structure to process mixed bagged waste efficiently while reducing excessive material crushing. The system supports stable continuous feeding for waste sizes up to 1200 mm.
High Resource Recovery Efficiency
Through multi-stage screening, magnetic separation, and air separation processes, the production line can achieve up to 85% resource recovery efficiency for recyclable aggregates, metals, plastics, and combustible materials.
Low Dust & Space-Saving Design
The plant adopts enclosed conveyors, full-area mist spraying, and pulse bag dust collectors to reduce dust pollution. The multi-layer integrated structure design also helps reduce land occupation and improve equipment coordination.

Installation & Service Support

During project delivery, Zhongyi engineers provided on-site installation guidance and commissioning support. We stayed on-site during key stages such as equipment alignment, electrical connection, and trial operation, ensuring smooth startup of the entire system. Operator training was also provided to help the customer quickly master daily operation and maintenance.

Project Result

After the production line was put into operation, the decoration waste sorting center maintained stable processing capacity under continuous daily operation. The system improved overall sorting efficiency and reduced the workload of manual workers in the primary sorting section.

Compared with the previous manual sorting method, recyclable materials such as metal, wood, plastics, and recycled aggregates could be separated more efficiently, helping improve the recovery value of decoration waste. The stable operation of the bag opening and screening system also reduced material blockage and downtime during peak feeding periods.

Since commissioning, the production line has continued running steadily and has become an important part of the customer’s long-term solid waste recycling and resource recovery strategy.
