Zhongyi Machinery designed and supplied a complete construction and renovation waste recycling plant in Zhejiang, China, for processing mixed construction waste, decoration waste and solid waste. With a processing capacity of 2000m³/day, the project helps convert complex waste streams containing concrete, bricks, wood, plastic and metals into reusable resources through advanced screening, crushing and separation technologies.
The recycling system integrates feeding, pre-screening, crushing, multi-stage screening, magnetic separation and air separation processes. It provides an efficient solution for construction waste reduction and resource recovery while producing recycled aggregates and recovering valuable materials.

Customer Requirements and Project Challenges
With rapid urban development and increasing renovation activities, the amount of construction and decoration waste has continued to grow. Unlike single-type waste streams, renovation waste usually contains a complex mixture of concrete blocks, bricks, tiles, steel, wood, plastic and other impurities, making efficient recycling and material separation more challenging.
The customer required a large-scale recycling system capable of continuously processing mixed construction and renovation waste while maintaining stable operation and producing high-quality recycled products. Traditional manual sorting methods could not meet the required processing capacity, while direct landfill disposal would lead to resource waste and increased environmental pressure.

Based on the characteristics of the incoming materials and the customer’s production requirements, Zhongyi Machinery designed a complete construction waste recycling solution integrating feeding, screening, crushing and separation technologies. The system is designed to efficiently process mixed construction and renovation waste, maximize material recovery and produce high-quality recycled products.
The complete recycling process includes:
- Feeding System: Provides stable and continuous feeding for mixed construction waste.
- Pre-screening: Removes smaller-size materials and unsuitable fractions to improve the efficiency of downstream processing.

Main Equipment Configuration
1. Apron Conveyor
Function: The Apron Conveyor provides stable and continuous feeding for mixed construction and renovation waste. It is designed to handle large and irregular materials, ensuring a uniform material flow into the recycling system and improving the stability of the entire production line.
2. Jaw Crusher
Function: The Jaw Crusher performs primary crushing of large construction waste materials such as concrete blocks and bricks. It reduces oversized materials into suitable particle sizes, creating better conditions for subsequent screening and separation processes.
3. Flip Flow Screen
Function: The Flip Flow Screen is used for efficient screening of mixed construction and renovation waste, especially materials with high moisture content and sticky characteristics. It separates materials by particle size and improves the efficiency of downstream recycling processes.
4. Magnetic Separator
Function: The Magnetic Separator recovers ferrous metals such as steel bars, iron pieces and other magnetic materials from the waste stream. It improves resource recovery efficiency while increasing the value of recovered materials.
5. Horizontal Negative Pressure Air Separator
Function: The Horizontal Negative Pressure Air Separator removes lightweight impurities such as plastic, wood and paper through airflow separation technology. It improves the purity of recycled aggregates and enhances the overall quality of recovered materials.
Construction Waste Recycling Process
The mixed construction and renovation waste is first delivered into the recycling system for uniform feeding and preliminary screening. Large materials such as concrete blocks, bricks and other hard waste are then processed through crushing and multi-stage screening to achieve suitable particle sizes for further separation and recycled aggregate production.
After screening and crushing, the processed materials enter the separation stage, where ferrous metals and lightweight impurities such as plastic, wood, paper and foam are removed. Through the integrated crushing, screening and separation process, the plant improves material recovery efficiency and produces reusable recycled aggregates, recovered metals and other recyclable materials.
